Yang Luo received his double Ph.D. degrees in Chemical Technology from the Institute of Process Engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences and in Applied Physics from City University of Hong Kong (with two separate dissertations) in 2020. He is currently a Scientist at Multifunctional Material Laboratory, ETH Zürich. He is particularly interested in researching novel energy and environmental materials, defect engineering of 2D materials, heterogeneous catalysis for energy and environment, and wearable electronics. He has completed previous postdoctoral research at the University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong Productivity Council and Swiss Federal Laboratories for Materials Science and Technology (Empa). He was a Cooperative Visiting Professor at School of Energy Science and Engineering, Nanjing Tech University from Apr. to Dec. 2022 and a PartTime Lecturer at Jiangsu University of Technology from Sept. to Oct. 2021. He was awarded the Innovation & Technology Postdoctoral Fellowship of the Hong Kong Government (2021-2023), Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions Seal of Excellence (2023), Advanced Materials Innovation Award (2023), Gold Medal of 48th International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva
(2023), RSC Best Early Career Researcher of Nanotech (2022), Outstanding Graduate of Beijing (2020), and National Scholarships of China (2019 and 2012). He has published 58 papers (22 first-author papers and 16 co-corresponding-author papers) in peer-reviewed journals including ACS Nano, Advanced Functional Materials, SmartMat, Nano Energy, Advanced Science, Small, etc. He has an h-index of 24, and total citations of > 1400 (Google Scholar).
