Ghenadii Korotcenkov has over 50 years of experience as a researcher and research professor at the Technical University of Moldova, Chisinau (1971-2007), Korea Institute of Energy Research (Daejeon) (2007-2008), Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology, Korea (2008-2017), Moldova State University, Chisinau (2018-present). His current research interests, since 1995, include materials science, focusing on the deposition and characterization of metal oxide films, surface science, thermoelectric conversion, and physical and chemical sensors.
G. Korotcenkov is the author or editor of 45 books and special issues, and the series editor of
the Metal Oxides book series published by Elsevier. G. Korotcenkov is author and co-author of more than 250 peer-reviewed articles (h-factor=45 (Scopus) and h=66 (Google scholar citation)).
Dr. G. Korotcenkov is a member of the editorial boards of five scientific international journals. He participated in the organization of more than 40 international scientific conferences. His name and activities have been listed by many biographical publications including Who’s Who. G. Korotcenkov have also been listed as one of the "World's Ranking Top 2% Scientists" in Applied Physics/Analytical Chemistry in the Physics and Astronomy Cluster. His research activities have been honored by the National Prize of the Republic of Moldova (2022), an Award of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova (2019), the Prize of the Presidents of the Ukrainian, Belarus, and Moldovan Academies of Sciences (2004), the National Youth Prize of the Republic of Moldova in the field of science and technology (1980), among others. G. Korotcenkov also received a fellowship from IREX, USA, (1998), Brain Korea 21 Program (2008-2012), and BrainPool Program (Korea, 2015-2017).
